I’m now well past the main part of my book, and it’s gotten to the point where it is becoming scary. It’s growing like an out-of-control fungus. It will take a rock-solid month to do the second draft and prepare all the images properly. Not just my own work but an awful lot of other people’s work… But you know what? My gut is telling me I might just be proud of this book. For once I hope my gut is right. So far, three art directors have agreed to answer questions (which have already been sent off to them), and several artists are on board (I’m actually not worried about finding more artists…). Collectors, however, are difficult to find, but I’m still looking. Oh, and I’m lining up some podcasts who will have me, to chat about the book both before and after it’s release. As an ebook first.
Anyway, on to today’s post. Just to make a change (and because yesterday I finished writing briefly about horses) I thought I’d pull together a few previous cards I’d done of horses. Most were commissioned. I LOVE painting horses, as I used to ride and train them. The horse portrait of Ravenna is from almost 25 years ago (gads..), and I was having a good time with illuminated letters as well. That was larger and measured about 12 x 16 inches and was done with color pencil.
Well, I gotta get back to it! Working on a new Star Wars set and will have Patron-Only previews very soon.
